Vale S. Cosme, Telhado and Portela were the parishes visited by the Mayor, Mário Passos, yesterday’s afternoon. This was already the 13th visit of the Mayor to the area, under the "Presidency of Proximity" route, where he makes a close and practical analysis of the real needs of the localities, talking to local leaders and citizens in the streets and in public sessions included in this open and inclusive municipal management initiative.
During his visit to the aforementioned union of parishes, the mayor of Famalicão received the concerns and ambitions of about two dozen representatives of local associations and groups, which referred to the deficit of public transport in the parishes and municipal support to improve accessibility to the Vale S. Cosme school premises and the schoolyard of Telhado, as well as better logistical conditions for local associations. In the session, there was also room for thanks, namely, for the monitoring provided by municipal officials, together with local associations, during the pandemic period.
"Working sessions with the local community are always very productive", commented Mário Passos, who stressed his satisfaction in "talking to fellow citizens, eye to eye (...) it is the only way to truly feel the 'pulse' and the aspirations of the famalicense population (...) only thus can we ensure the development of Famalicão".
From the Vale São Cosme cemetery to Avenida da Raposeira in Telhado, passing through the Portela Natural Park, before the community session, Mário Passos was accompanied by the executive of the União de Freguesias, namely the President of the Junta, Bernardino Martins, as well as the President of the Parish's Assembly, Luís Ângelo Oliveira, verified the needs that include the enlargement of the cemetery space, paving works, the creation of a leisure park and the reinforcement of public lighting and traffic regulation, in the area surrounding the churchyard of the Parochial Church of Telhado.
