A renewed team that combines municipal governing experience with new blood. This is how the Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Mário Passos, presented, this Thursday, his team of councillors and the respective distribution of portfolios.
In a brief ceremony, attended by the six councillors elected by the PSD- CDS/PP coalition that make up the executive, Mário Passos spoke of "a smooth transition between a recent past that deserves all our respect and a future that we are building".
"Fifty per cent of the team with responsibilities is new, that is, we have three new councillors and three who have followed the municipal dynamic for a longer period of time", stressed the new Mayor, highlighting the balance, motivation and educational diversity of the team.
For this mandate, three new portfolios were created in the areas of Urban Intelligence; Energy Transition and Interculturalism and Integration. “The goal is to create answers to the new challenges of today, keeping Famalicão at the forefront of development”.
The experience, professional training and vocation were the main criteria for the distribution of the portfolios, which was done as follows: Mário Passos, Mayor: Planning, Urban Management and Inspection; Public Domain Works; Parishes; Housing; Human Resources; Social Solidarity; Public Procurement; Municipal Governance and Urban Intelligence; Energy Transition, Financial Management; Strategic Planning; Administrative Modernisation and Digital Transition. Sofia Fernandes: Health; Transport and Mobility; Equality; Interculturalism and Integration; Family; Road Safety. Augusto Lima: Education and Sciences; International Relations; Integrated Development; Maintenance of Public Spaces and Facilities; Economy and Entrepreneurship. Pedro Oliveira: Sports; Culture; Civil Society. Luísa Azevedo: Youth; Volunteering; Tourism. Hélder Pereira: Environment; Consumer Protection; Cemetery Management; Animal Welfare.
The Municipal Executive is composed by eleven elected councillors, seven by the More Action More Famalicão Coalition and four by the Socialist Party
