Vila Nova de Famalicão Town Hall has reaffirmed its support for the municipality's youth associations by signing a series of financial protocols to support the development of activities and projects by seven local movements.
They are: Associação Guias de Portugal, Corpo Nacional de Escutas - Junta de Núcleo de Vila Nova de Famalicão, Koklus - Associação Juvenil de Fradelos, Yupi, Youth Union Of People With Initiative, Quebraritmo - Associação Juvenil, Sport Krachtbal Clube and PASEC - Plataforma de Animadores Socioeducativos e Culturais.
The session took place last Tuesday, 30 April, precisely on the day that marked Youth Associations Day.
The overall support given by the municipality to these organisations is around 70,000 euros.
The mayor praised the ability of youth associations ‘to attract and involve young people in the day-to-day running of the municipality’ and their ‘contribution to the education of young people who find here real spaces for socialising and personal fulfilment’.
Mário Passos also reaffirmed the municipality's willingness to continue to be ‘an active partner’ not only of the youth association movement, but also of the entire association movement in the municipality, ‘creating conditions for its growth and stimulating public participation’.
