With the rise of the temperatures and the return of the warm nights, Famalicão turns the projector to the outside and directs the lights of cinema to the squares and parks of the county with a new edition of Cinema Paraíso
The proposal comes to us once again by the hand of Cineclube de Joane, which, from July 4 to August 18, suggests many good films to liven up the summer nights of the citizens.
This year, in addition to the usual sessions on Wednesdays in the enclosure of Anima-te, in Parque da Devesa Park, the initiative will maintain the brand of itinerancy also making the seventh art to reach five parishes of the county: Arnoso Santa Eulalia, Carreira, Fradelos, Mogege and Vale São Cosme.
The program of the 22nd edition of Cinema Paraíso starts on July 4, at the Parque de Jogos da Carreira, with the screening of the film "Loveling” by Gustavo Pizzi. It is followed by the first night of open-air cinema in Devesa, on July 7, with the film "Knives Out: Everyone is a Suspect". "Modern Times" by Charlie Chaplin will be shown on July 11, at the Parque de Jogos de Arnoso Santa Eulália. “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon" is the film that follows in Devesa, on July 14.
The month of July also includes the exhibition of films "Mirai" on 18, at CIIES, in Vale São Cosme; "Parasites" on 21, in the churchyard of Fradelos, and "Ordem Moral" on 25, at the Playground of ADERM, in Mogege.
In August, the sessions of Cinema Paradise take place all in the Devesa Park. Day 4 is shown "Nomadland ", winner of the Oscar for Best Picture, day 11 is the turn of "Mary and the Witch’s Flower", closing with " La Strada" by Federico Fellini, on 18.
All sessions are scheduled for 22h00 and have free admission. For the sessions scheduled in the Devesa is mandatory to pick up the ticket within 2 hours before the session. The sessions in the parishes are also limited to the capacity of the various spaces.
Remember that the CineClube de Joane organizes since 1999 the Cinema Paraíso in Famalicão. The initiative is a partnership between the City Council and Casa das Artes.
"In previous editions we have affirmed one of the main ideas of the project, its itinerancy, which has allowed Cinema Paraíso to park in more than thirty places, in a route that has already reached more than half of the parishes of the territory of Vila Nova de Famalicão and that knows in this its 22nd edition an increase through the cultural decentralization program Há Cultura/Cultura Para Todos" promoted by the City Council and co-financed by NORTE 2020, through the European Social Fund, explains the organization.
"For this edition we will continue to take cinema to the people, with careful choices, with proposals that reach the general public and that aim to surprise the viewer. Popular cinema of various origins, of the present and in dialogue with the history of cinema”.
The invitation is out, bring your popcorn, friends and family, blankets and pillows and don't forget your sweater for the cooler nights.
