The Parish of Novais has a new social equipment. It is a new Pastoral and Parish Centre of the Parish Council that was inaugurated last Sunday, November 21, in a session that was attended by the Mayor, Mário Passos and the Archbishop of Braga D. Jorge Ortiga.
The building is the result of an investment of about 355 thousand euros, being, about 100 thousand euros from the support granted by the City Council and the Parish Council. With an area of 700 square meters, the infrastructure has a multipurpose hall, catechism rooms, registry office, among other spaces prepared to receive from religious dynamics to cultural activities.
"It is a project that was not thought only to fulfil a purpose that attends to the religious dimension, but also other valences that the communities have to have, namely, in what concerns culture, sports, solidarity and recreation" pointed out Mário Passos, reinforcing the multipurpose character of the work.
The Mayor did not fail to mention the importance of the connection between the City Council, Parish Council and the local community, so that “hand in hand, we continue together in this trajectory of creating well-being, better quality of life and pride in being famalicenses”, he stressed
"It is as important as the church", Archbishop Primate of Braga, D. Jorge Ortiga, said of the Pastoral and Parish Centre. "Here we deepen our faith and set out for life with a different responsibility". he stressed.
On the sidelines of the inauguration, the new leisure park planned for Novais was also addressed, about which the Mayor mentioned the intention to move forward with "the acquisition of the land, so that another quality equipment can also be placed here.
