Outdoor sport is returning to Vila Nova de Famalicão. The Move-te programme, organised by the City Council in partnership with parish councils and local gyms, kicks off on Monday, June 20, with more than 100 hours of free sport for all ages.
Until July 15, 121 classes will be held, lasting 60 minutes, guided by municipal sports technicians and the two dozen local gyms that are associated with the initiative.
Zumba, Pilates, functional training, localized gymnastics, body attack, meditation, karate, ballroom dancing, cross training are some of the modalities practiced.
The Devesa Park is again the central stage of physical exercise of Move-te, but the classes still take place, frequently, in Quinteiro Park, in Oliveira S. Mateus, in Ribeira Park, in Joane, and in the Parque de Lazer Rio Veirão, in Ribeirão.
As in recent years, Move-te will also reach several parishes in the municipality, with classes scheduled at the Seide Parish Union (UF); Ruivães and Novais UF; Esmeriz and Cabeçudos UF; Carreira and Bente UF; Gondifelos, Cavalões and Outiz UF; Arnoso Santa Maria, Arnoso Sta. Eulália and Sezures; UF of Avidos and Lagoa; UF of Lemenhe, Mouquim and Jesufrei and in the parishes of Requião, Riba de Ave, Delães, Oliveira Santa Maria, Vermoim, Pedome, Fradelos, Lousado, Castelões, Bairro, Mogege, Vale São Martinho, Brufe and Gavião.
The programme closes this year with a novelty. A night walk is scheduled for July 15 (Friday), at 21h00. The race has a distance of 10 kilometres, has a medium degree of difficulty and is subject to registration on the portal Famalicão Desportivo. The start will take place in the Park of the Devesa to the top of Monte de Santa Catarina and return to the Devesa.
