New week, new visit to the field. The Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Mário Passos, wants to "listen to govern better" and yesterday was in the Parish Union of Arnoso and Sezures, where he had the opportunity to learn about the main challenges, problems and projects related to this community of the municipality of Famalicão.
The Presidency of Proximity of this Tuesday, May 17, started in Sezures to mark the requalification works of the Churchyard, an intervention that is already in a final stage and counted with a municipal support of 147 thousand euros.
"The conclusion of this work is good news. The churchyards have their religious symbolism, but above all they are convivial spaces open to the entire population", said the mayor.
The road network dominated the visit to Arnoso Santa Eulália. The repaving of Cruzes street and Dr. Antero Martins street were two of the interventions pointed out as priorities.
Mário Passos also visited the Arnoso Martial Band facilities, which are being rehabilitated. In this first phase of the intervention, which had a municipal support of 75 thousand euros, the works are taking place mainly in the roof and outside the building.
The mayor speaks of a "fundamental work" for the future of the institution that "gives great prestige to our municipality".
Accompanying the mayor was the president of the Union of Parishes, Jorge Amaral, who also pointed to the future construction of a multi-purpose building, in Arnoso Santa Maria.
The afternoon ended, as usual in these visits, with a meeting with the living forces of the Parish Union, which counted with the participation of about fifty people.
At the end, Mário Passos drew a positive balance of another presidency of proximity. "The work of a mayor is never finished and that is why these meetings are so important. A territory only develops with this involvement, with this collective participation and I am very pleased with these meetings because I can see how much the citizens of Vila Nova de Famalicão are committed to the future of Vila Nova de Famalicão".
