The applications for the Professional Higher Technical Courses (CTeSP) and Technological Specialisation Courses (CET) for the 2021/2022 school year are now open. The training entities of Vila Nova de Famalicão offer 750 vacancies distributed by twenty one CTeSP courses and six CET courses, with the beginning of the training in the month of September, either in working hours or after working hours.

58% increase in the last school year In Famalicão, the number of students enrolled in the 1st year, either in the Higher Technical Professional Courses (CTeSP) or in the Technological Specialisation Courses (CET), in the academic year 2020-2021, increased 58% compared to the previous academic year, reaching about 571 new enrolments, representing the consolidation of a training offer model, with an increase of students enrolled for the 4th consecutive year. This training/qualification of senior staff meets the needs of companies, where investment in knowledge, research, technological development and innovation is central and decisive.
The deadline for the application to the first phase has already started and runs until the 10/08/2021 (in case of IPCA), until the 31/08/2021 (in case of IPB), until the 03/09/2021 (in case of CESPU) and until the beginning of October (in the entities of CENFIM and CITEVE). Applications must be made through the websites of each entities. Professional Higher Technical Courses The Professional Higher Technical Courses (CTeSP) are higher education courses. Gerontology, Wellness and Thermalism, Family and Community Service, Health and Exercise, Bioanalysis and Control, Clinical Secretarial, Aesthetics, Cosmetics and Wellness, Food Technology, Environmental Management, Fashion Design, Security and data protection for information systems, Electronics, Automation and Control, Management Support, Export and Logistics, E-Commerce, Web and Multimedia Development, Financial and Accounting Management, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Production Management, Digital Marketing and Social Media and Networks and Computer Security are the CTeSP offered by Cespu, IPB and IPCA.
The entrance conditions require that the candidates must be holders of a secondary education course or legally equivalent qualification; have been approved in the especially adequate tests for over 23 years old; holders of a technological specialisation diploma or a professional higher technician diploma; holders of a higher education degree who intend to obtain professional requalification.
The CTeSP has 120 credits and a duration of four semesters (2 years), the last one being in a work context. The attendance of these courses is associated with the payment of a tuition fee, although the trainees may apply for a social action grant.
Technological Specialisation Courses Technological Specialisation Courses (CET) are post-secondary non-higher education courses aimed at providing a level 5 professional qualification of the National Qualifications Framework (QNQ).
Production Management for the Metallurgical and Metal mechanical Industry, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronic Technology, Industrialisation of fashion products, Fashion Trade and Textile Colouring and Finishing Processes are the Technological Specialisation Courses offered by Cenfim and Citeve.
To access the CETs, the candidates have to comply with the following conditions: holders of a secondary education course or legally equivalent qualification; students who have passed all the 10th and 11th year subjects and have been enrolled in the 12th year of a secondary education course or legally equivalent qualification but have not completed it; holders of a level 4 professional qualification; holders of a technological specialisation diploma or a higher education degree or diploma who wish to undergo vocational requalification.
Students who do not hold a secondary education qualification or a legally equivalent qualification have to follow an additional training plan, if selected.
The CETs have a duration of approximately one year and a half (18 months), which corresponds to between 60 and 90 credit units. The attendance of these courses is free of charge and entitles to a training scholarship and transportation.
